The KLORANE Institute was created in 1994 by Pierre FABRE.
This institute primarily created for its relationship to plants focuses on three main lines : To Protect, to Explore and to Educate.
To Protect :KLORANE takes the protection and the conservation of green spaces and endangered plants very seriously. KLORANE is part of Fabre laboratories and is thus a guarantor of the various species endangered.
To Explore :KLORANE is part of the institutes which help knowing the different conservation techniques of endangered plants especially thanks to the writing of information kits. Indeed, these ones are intended for the various health care trades.
To Educate :Thanks to various sponsorships, with several professionals in botany and flora, KLORANE passes on his knowledge to children and students. Furthermore, several information documents about biodiversity, sustainable development as well as botany, are made available to the public. KLORANE also contributes to the setting up of national exhibitions on this subject.
KLORANE is part of various ecological and botanical actions in several European countries. In Portugal, this institute enabled the reintroduction of certain endangered plants. In Belgium, children were made aware of the protection of species thanks to entertaining and informative games. In Greece, students and professionals are encouraged to visit pharmacy students in order to discover and understand the plant heritage. In Italy, this institute enabled raising the awareness of many schools about environmental problems of which « plant diversity for well-being » was the subject of a contest. This contest aimed at raising the awareness of children about the plant world, the increase of plant heritage and the safeguard of certain species. Indeed, the schoolchildren could grow plants while respecting biodiversity. In Canada, a partnership enabled the reintroduction of a plant threatened with extinction in its natural habitat, the species of carex, the rarest in Canada. In Spain, the awareness campaign continued in many schools, particularly with the discovery of the senses and of the five different botanical gardens. Raising awareness at a young age allows mentalities to change.
